Lehigh defeated Siena 3-0 on Sunday at the Ulrich Sports Complex in a game that saw the Mountain Hawks score more goals than their previous five games combined. Lehigh is now 2-4 on the season and the Saints fall to 0-5.
Senior co-captain Blaire Goodwin picked up a goal and an assist on the afternoon to give her seven points on the season. Sophomore Maureen Harrington and freshman Kelsey Smith also scored goals for the Mountain Hawks. Junior Jeanine Hoff and sophomore Meghan Gove split halves in the cage for Lehigh with Gove picking up two saves along the way.
Harrington's goal came just four minutes into the contest, as Lehigh grabbed the 1-0 lead. Goodwin and Smith both scored in the second half, just five minutes apart, with Smith's coming off of a corner, to secure the Mountain Hawk victory.
Siena's Kathleen Brennan attempted two of the team's three shots, and goalie Kristen Heyde collected five saves.
The Saints open their home season Wednesday at 4 p.m. against cross-town rival UAlbany
