Lynda Lareau begins her fifth season as head coach of the Siena field hockey program.
In five years, she has helped energize the Siena program, guiding the Saints to their first NEC Tournament appearance in 2003.
Lareau comes to Siena from Bryant College in Smithfield, R. I. where she served as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs field hockey team in 1999 and 2000. She was responsible for much of the recruiting, player evaluation and game preparation duties.
Before that, she served in a similar position at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass. in 1998 and 1999.
Lareau attended Assumption College in Worcester, Mass. and graduated in 1995 with a degree in biology and chemistry. At Assumption, she was a co-captain on the field hockey team and was named a Division II Second-Team All-American. Lareau earned her MBA from Bryant in 2001.
In just her fifth season as head coach, Lareau has already brought in threeof the school's most heralded recruiting classes.
Lareau is a full-time member of the Siena athletic department where she also serves as an assistant facility manager. Lareau is the director of the Siena Field Hockey Camp in the summer and an active member of the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association.
