Dec. 29, 2010
BRONX, N.Y. - Over the next six days the Saints will say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 with four games scheduled in the greater New York City metropolitan area. It all begins Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. when the Saints square off with Villanova in the 2010 Fordham Holiday Classic.
The Saints enter a crucial part of the season as they close out non-conference action the next two days here in the Bronx before opening MAAC play beginning this weekend at nearby locations in Iona Sunday and Manhattan Tuesday.
Siena has had some success against the Big East in the past, posting a 10-14 all-time record against the 16 current members of the conference, which includes a 2-1 mark against the Wildcats. All three previous games against Villanova have also come in holiday tournaments with the most recent matchup a memorable 71-65 victory by the Saints exactly 16 years ago to the day in the Villanova Christmas Classic Championship game on Dec. 29, 1994.
