Saints Drop Another Tight One
Siena played its second straight game decided by a razor thin margin. Unfortunately, the Saints came up just short once again. UMass placed four players in double figures, fending off the Saints 58-53 in front of a crowd of 1,754 at the Alumni Recreation Center.
Siena (3-6) returns to the court for their final matchup vs. an Atlantic-10 opponent this season in search of their first win. The Saints fell 47-39 at Rhode Island Nov. 17 and suffered a 91-53 setback vs. defending A-10 Champion and preseason favorite, undefeated No. 16/15 Dayton last Saturday at the ARC.
Picked 15th out of 16 teams in the Atlantic-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, UMass (2-10) has struggled in the early part of the season losing five in a row. Last December the Minutewomen beat the Saints 58-53 in Loudonville in a game that featured 10 ties and 12 lead changes.
Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight with the radio pregame show on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint." Fans can also tune into the call of the game free online at SienaAllAccess.com.
