Women's Basketball to Host First Annual "Kid's Day" Game

Dec. 17, 2010

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's basketball will be hosting its first annual "Kid's Day" game on Wednesday, Dec. 22 when the Saints welcome UC Santa Barbara to the ARC for a special 11 a.m. tip-off. All children ages 13 and under will gain FREE admission to the game.

"I am very excited about our first Kid's Day game here at Siena," said head coach Gina Castelli. "Kid's Day games have been a huge success in the MAAC and I have no doubt that it will be a success here as well. The children provide loads of enthusiasm and energy that I'm sure will have a positive impact on our team."

A number of local schoolchildren from the surrounding area are already confirmed to be in attendance and the Saints hope for even more to come out for what should be an exciting afternoon of basketball. Additional specials for the game include dollar dogs and special on-court promotions and games throughout the contest geared towards children.

"We plan on making the Kid's Day game an annual event for the women's basketball program and encourage everyone to be a part of the excitement on Wednesday and help make this first year a huge success," added Castelli.
