LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - After averaging 22.5 points last week, Siena senior forward Serena Moore was recognized for her outstanding effort by being named MAAC Co-Player of the Week. The Rochester, N.Y. native shares the honor with Fairfield's Katelynn Linney.
Moore had a fantastic week for the Saints, averaging 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 50% from the field in games against Colgate and Wagner.
In the Saints come-from-behind triumph last Monday against Colgate, Moore scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the second half, while adding seven rebounds and a career-high six assists.
In Saturday's narrow loss to Wagner, she scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down a career-high tying 12 rebounds. She added four steals and two blocks and sealed her tremendous effort by sinking a 35-foot fade away jumper as time expired.
In three games this season, Moore ranks second in the conference in scoring (19.7), rebounding (9.0) and field goal percentage (46.2%), third in blocks (1.3) and sixth in steals (2.0).
