LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The first MAAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the 2013-14 season is Siena's Meghan Donohue. The Mogadore, Ohio native led the Saints with 13 points and six rebounds in her collegiate debut Friday against UAlbany.
The first Siena freshman to a start a season opener since both Cristina Centeno and Brittany Wilwohl started the 2008 lid lifter against Syracuse, Donohue's 13 points were the most by a Saint in their collegiate debut since Wilwohl's 19 against the Orange.
Donohue shot 5-10 from the floor against the two-time defending America East Champions, all while being matched up against the Great Danes' 6-9 center Megan Craig. Donohue outplayed the Preseason All-America East selection, limiting her to just four points and five rebounds.
Donohue and the Saints return to action Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip at Fairleigh Dickinson.
