Former Siena College Women's Basketball standout Gunta Basko (Olaine, Latvia/Riga Secondary #3) has signed a contract to play basketball in Israel, it was announced recently by her agent Renee Carlson of Triple Crown Athlete Management. Basko will play for Lachen Ramat-Hasharon, a First Division team in Ramat-Hasharon, Israel.

The 6-foot forward will join the team on September 15 for an eight-month season, with a break to return home to Latvia for the Christmas holiday. Basko will be accompanied by two WNBA players on the team. Houston Comets players Michelle Snow and Octavia Blue also will play for Ramat-Hasharon.

"I'm looking forward to playing for a good team and getting the chance to keep improving my skills," Basko said. "I love basketball and I'm excited to play for them."
