LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Women's Basketball held its First Annual 9-Hole Golf Outing Saturday, May 6 at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in nearby Clifton Park. The event, which served as a fundraiser for the team's foreign trip this August to Denmark and Italy, raised nearly $11,000.
"We had a fantastic day," said head coach Gina Castelli. "I am grateful to the entire Siena Community for supporting our First Annual Golf Outing. It was wonderful to reconnect with so many alumni. Our overseas trip has already provided great memories for us."
A large number of women's basketball alumni participated in the event in addition to Siena College men's basketball coach Mitch Buonaguro among others. Siena College President Fr. Kevin Mullen was also in attendance and greeted the participants.
The event included raffles and silent auction items and dinner was served at the conclusion of the evening.
Several women's basketball alumni were among the award winners. Assistant coach Michelle Collins '93 won longest drive on the back-nine with Heidi Harkins '84 capturing the award on the front-nine. Audra (Spremullo) DiBacco '01 won closest to the pin and the team of Laura Menty '08, Melissa Manzer '08, Jim Mraz and Kelly Mraz won first place on the front nine.
