SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - Siena Women's Basketball looks to make history and become the first No. 6 seed in MAAC history to advance to the conference title game when the Saints battle second seeded Iona in semifinal action at 9:30 a.m. at the MassMutual Center. Gaels Race Past Saints
Iona answered a 15-2 Siena run by scoring the next 16 point to build back a 20-point lead and defeat the Saints 71-47 Sunday afternoon at the Hynes Athletics Center. Siena shot just 23.3% (14-60) from the field including 1-9 from three in the loss.

Siena (13-17) became just the sixth No. 6 seed in the 32-year history of the MAAC Tournament to advance to the semifinals with a 52-48 upset of third seeded Fairfield Friday. Siena, which advanced to the conference semifinals for the third straight year, is in search of its first MAAC Championship Game appearance since 2003 and fifth all-time.
Red-shot Iona (19-11) advanced to the semifinals with ease, routing seventh seeded Canisius 76-58 behind a MAAC Tournament record-tying 36-point performance from the conference's Player of the Year Damika Martinez. The Gaels have won eight in a row including a 24-point victory over the Saints two weeks ago in New Rochelle.
