Fairfield Grinds Past Siena, 50-43
Brittany Obi-Tabot scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half, rallying Fairfield past Siena 50-43 at Alumni Hall. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Saints, while the Stags have won five straight and seven of eight.

For the eighth time in the past nine years and sixth time in each program's first tournament game, Siena (12-17) and Fairfield (17-12) meet again in postseason play. Overall, its the programs' 13th meeting in the MAAC Tournament with the Stags holding an 8-4 overall record including a 4-2 mark in quarterfinal matchups.

Entering its 24th MAAC Championships, Siena is an even 22-22 all-time and won it all back in 2001. Siena is an impressive 14-7 all-time in the quarterfinal round and 3-5 as the No. 6 seed.

Last season Siena became the first No. 6 seed in 12 years to win a MAAC Quarterfinals game, upsetting third seed Manhattan 34-33 in the lowest scoring game in tournament history. It marked the third straight season in which Siena played in the lowest scoring game in the MAAC Tournament with the Saints winning all three.

Siena will look to pull the upset again this year and become just the sixth No. 6 seed in the 31-year history of the MAAC to advance to the semifinals. No No. 6 seed has ever advanced to or won a MAAC Championship.

Fairfield has won five in a row against the Saints and ended Siena's season last spring in the semifinals. The Stags are 35-27 all-time in the MAAC Tournament, winning the conference championship in both 1988 and 1998.

The Stags won a pair of seven-point decisions over the Saints in January, but have scuffled down the stretch losing three of four and finished conference play 5-6 in the final 11 games after a 6-1 start.
