LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's basketball senior tri-captain Laura Menty and junior guard Shondaya Burrell were named to All-MAAC teams as announced earlier this afternoon by league officials. Menty secured a spot on the First Team for the second straight season while Burrell earned Third Team honors.

Menty currently leads the league in scoring at 19.4 points per game. She also stands second in the league in field goal percentage as well, shooting at a 55% clip from the floor. Menty has scored in double figures in all 28 of the Saints games this season and leads the team in scoring for the fourth straight season. By virtue of being named to the First Team, she automatically becomes eligible for Player of the Year consideration which will be announced on Thursday.

Burrell meanwhile is eighth in the league in scoring at 14.1 points per game after posting a career-high 31 points in an overtime victory on Friday over Rider. She is also averaging 6.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, making her the only player in the league to rank in the top-12 in points, rebounds (12th) and assists (T-6th).

Siena finished sixth in the league and will play third seeded Fairfield on Friday morning in the 2008 Citizens Bank MAAC Women's Basketball Championships Quarterfinals in an 11:30 a.m. tip from Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y.
