Fourth Quarter Surge Propels Saints Past Fairfield
After scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter, Siena Women's Basketball defeated Fairfield 51-40 at the Alumni Recreation Center. The Saints extended their win streak to three-straight while the 40 points allowed are tied for the fewest under head coach Ali Jaques and least since March 3, 2012, against Manhattan at the MAAC Tournament when the Jaspers scored 33.

Chris Watson and Steve Amedio have the call beginning with pregame coverage at 4:30 p.m. locally on WVCR 88.3 FM “The Saint” and through SienaAllAccess.com. Fairfield leads the series 40-31 and has won six of the last 10 meetings. Fairfield splits their home games between Alumni Hall on campus and in Bridgeport. The Saints have not won at Alumni Hall since December 6, 2011 where they won 59-57.

Siena enters the game having defeated Manhattan 56-54 in overtime at Draddy Gymnasium. Senior guard Kollyns Scarbrough notched her seventh double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds, including 10 points from the free-throw line for Siena . Maddie Sims added 11 points after hitting her one and only three of the contest. Manhattan won the rebound game 49-31, but only recorded 10-second-chance points in their efforts. Siena used the Jaspers 20 turnovers to produce 18 points.

The Stags are coming off a 48-34 setback against Marist, a game where they set a season-low for points scored in a game. Fairfield's defense kept the Stags in the game and gave Fairfield an opportunity to overtake the Red Foxes. However, the Stags could not take advantage of a first half where they limited Marist to 23 points, including just two field goals during the second quarter. Redshirt senior Samantha Cooper tallied her conference-leading 13th double-double of the season, a number that ranks 14th nationally. Her 13 double-doubles is the most by a Stag since Katie Cizynski also reached that number in the 2013-14 season.
