BUFFALO, N.Y. - Siena Women's Basketball looks to earn a split of both its annual Western New York trip and the season series with Canisius when the Saints and Golden Griffins tip off at 2 p.m. at the Koessler Athletic Center. Gameday Central coverage begins with the radio pregame show at 1:30 p.m. in the Capital Region on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint" and online at SienaAllAccess.com.
Siena (7-17, 2-13) and Canisius (9-15, 5-10) enter the day in 10th and ninth place respectively in the MAAC Standings, looking to gain ground heading into the homestretch of the regular season. The Saints have lost 11 of their last 12 games, while Canisius has dropped five of seven.
Siena's 43 wins against Canisius are tied for the program's most against any school (Niagara) and the Saints have won four of the past six meetings.
Siena seemed to have the first meeting between the teams on Jan. 26 in Loudonville in hand, but the Golden Griffins ended the game on a 25-9 run to overcome a seven-point deficit with 6:02 to play and rally past the Saints 75-66. Canisius shot 65.4% in the second half and made seven of its final eight shots. Junior captain Tehresa Coles had her finest offensive performance as a Saint, tallying a career-high 25 points to go along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Mike Demos and Steve Amedio have the radio call beginning with the Berkshire Bank Pregame Show at 1:30 p.m. Listen in the Capital Region on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint," or free online or through your iOS device (such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in addition to any devices that support Adobe Flash 10.1 or greater) at SienaAllAccess.com.
