LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - One year ago a pair of teams named the Saints had a memorable Super Bowl Sunday. The New Orleans Saints won their first Super Bowl hours after the Siena Saints posted their biggest comeback in nine years, rallying from 18 down to beat Iona. On this year's Super Bowl Sunday, the Saints look to be super again as they go for the season sweep of Niagara in a 2 p.m. tip at the ARC.
Siena Athletics will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sports Day by recognizing and honoring student-athletes and coaches from all 11 women's athletics programs in a special halftime ceremony. Additionally, the first 250 fans will receive a Siena Athletics beach towel and three lucky students will take home a Subway Super Bowl Party Platter.
Siena (8-13, 6-5) aims to rebound today against Niagara (1-21, 0-11) after having dropped five of its previous six games. The Purple Eagles are winless in 2011 and have dropped 16 in a row since their lone win of the season over Penn back on Nov. 30. In the previous meeting between the teams in Western New York on Jan. 14, the Saints drubbed Niagara 77-37 for the program's largest-ever MAAC road win.
