LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Women’s Basketball hosts Monmouth at the Alumni Recreation Center on Friday at 7 p.m. matchup. As the league has changed the conference scheduling, this is the sole meeting between the Hawks and the Saints.

Surging Saints Win Sixth Straight
Junior guard Kollyns Scarbrough erupted for a career-high 34 points to lead red-hot Siena Women's Basketball past Monmouth 91-86 in a double-overtime thriller at the OceanFirst Bank Center. The surging Saints have won six straight for the second January in row, to match the program's longest winning streak in 14 years.

The Saints and Hawks meet up for the 19th meeting with the series tied 9-9. The Saints have won the last six contests against Monmouth. The last time the Hawks won the matchup in Loudonville was on January 13, 2014, when Monmouth won 64-49.

Siena is in the tailend of a three-game in seven day span for the fourth time this season. They are 7-4 overall during those spans. The first time (Nov. 10-15) Siena went 1-2, and the second time (Nov. 29- Dec. 4) Siena went 2-1. In the third span (Jan. 18-22), the Saints went 3-0, while they are 1-1 in this span.

Siena enters the contest having won five of their last six games, but falling in their most recent matchup against Marist. Joella Gibson led the Saints with 16 points and hitting all five of her free-throw attempts. The Saints tallied 23 points in the final frame, which was the most points scored in the fourth quarter since January 7. Siena also connected on five from behind the arc for their most since making six at Colgate on November 29.

Monmouth enters the contest on a one-game winning streak having defeated Rider 63-56 at home. The Hawks outscored the Broncs 24-8 in the first quarter which helped them hold on for the victory. Sophomore Taylor Nason recorded her first career double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds while Erica Balman also added 12 points.
