Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's basketball team, in conjunction with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, will kick off the 2008 Girls in the Game program on Saturday afternoon as players and coaches host its annual clinic at the Alumni Recreation Center. Local youth are encouraged to join the Saints from 1-3 p.m. for an instructional and skill building program. A $10 participation fee will be accessed per child. In turn, all participants will receive free ticket vouchers for two highly anticipated Siena women's hoop games and the 2008 MAAC Championship contest on March 9 at the Times Union Center.
The Girls in the Game program is an annual series of events that aims to expose young girls to role models in their local community. It stresses the importance of excellence not only on the court, but also in the classroom.
