Siena leads the series against the Golden Griffs 49-24. The 49 wins against Canisius is the most wins against any program in Siena history. The Saints also hold a six-game winning streak against the Golden Griffins. In the last 10 meetings, Siena has won seven of the matchups. In nine of those 10 meetings the score different has been 11 points or less, with the largest margin of victory for Siena coming last year, 67-42.
The Saints enter the contest on a one-game losing streak after falling 73-68 to Niagara at the Times Union Center on Sunday, Jan. 7. Siena is led by senior guard Kollyns Scarbrough who is averaging 15.2 points per game and shot a league-high 52% from the field. She has led the Saints in scoring in 10 of their 15 contests. Deja Rawls sits in fifth in the MAAC averaging 3.6 assists per game while producing a 1.6 assist to turnover ratio.
Canisius enters the game with a 3-13, 1-4 league record. The Golden Griffs put together a three minute, 17-5 run to take a 51-49 lead in the fourth quarter against Manhattan on Thursday night but were unable to make the long range game-tying shot and fell 59-56. Sara Hinriksdottir led the way for Canisius with 19 points, while Tiana Pugh posted 15 points. The Golden Griffins tallied 12 steals against the Jaspers for a season-high and most since 13 against Fairfield on February 23, 2017.
