LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - With first place in the MAAC on the line, longtime conference rivals Siena and Fairfield do battle tonight at the ARC in a 7 p.m. tip. Winners of four in a row, the Saints will aim to retain first place in the MAAC by defeating an equally hot Stags team that enters tonight's matchup having won their last six games.
Tonight's game will be broadcast throughout New York State on Time Warner Cable Sports. Mike Demos and Melissa Manzer have the call of the game which airs in the Capital Region on Channel 3 and 1003 and can also be viewed online at SienaAllAccess.com. Meanwhile, Andrew Champagne and Steve Amedio have the radio call on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint" beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Siena (5-8, 3-0) is on their longest winning streak since reeling off five straight from Dec. 9-31, 2005 and is off to their best conference start since the 2002-03 season. Fairfield (10-3, 3-0) meanwhile has captured five of the past six meetings between the schools including four straight in the Capital Region. The Stags are propelled by a stellar defense which enters tonight's matchup ranking fourth nationally, allowing just 47.3 points per game.
