Stags End Siena's Season in Semifinals
When MAAC Player of the Year candidate Taryn Johnson went to the bench with her fourth foul with 17:17 remaining and Siena leading, the outlook could not have been brighter for the Saints. But buoyed by their other veteran leaders, Fairfield went on a 17-4 run late and pulled away for a 63-48 win as the Saints' season ended in the MAAC Semifinals for the second straight year.
Kid's Day is a part of Siena Athletics' BlueShield of Northeastern New York "Saints in the Community" Adopt-A-School program. As part of the program, student athletes and coaches from both the men's and women's basketball teams make return visits to the schools, preaching the importance of hard work and strong academics while also interacting with students through games and basketball drills.
As part of the game, BlueShield will have their Healthy Zone cruiser on site which includes various activities for those in attendance and will be giving away magnets and doing a t-shirt toss. Additionally, there will be a game at halftime and during timeouts with the students involving healthy trivia questions and activities and student athletes from the men's basketball team will also be in attendance.
