ALBANY, N.Y. - UAlbany shot 60% from the field while holding Siena to just 23.7% as the Great Danes retained the Albany Cup for a third straight year with a 65-48 win. Tehresa Coles led the Saints with a career-high 13 points.

The Great Danes (5-2) opened things up with a 19-4 run midway through the first half and never looked back. UAlbany led by 16 at halftime, 35-19, and by as much as 27 in the contest.

Siena's (2-5) pressure defense, which leads the MAAC forcing nearly 23 turnovers per game, forced 22 UAlbany miscues while committing only a season-low 10. But the Saints, which took 14 more shots, could not take advantage as they shot just 14-59.

UAlbany's 6-8 Megan Craig came off the bench to produce 12 points and three blocks, while Lindsey Lowrie added 12 and Julie Forster 10.

Coles, who leads the MAAC in steals, added four more to her total in another solid performance. Lily Grenci was limited to eight points and Ciara Stewart contributed a career-high tying seven.

Siena continues its three-game homestand Wednesday when they host Maine for a 6 p.m. tip-off at the ARC. The contest marks the first of four this season that will be televised regionally throughout New York on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
