Siena handed Marist their worse loss of the season as the Saints cruised to a 69-38 victory over the Red Foxes this afternoon at the McCann Center. With the win, Siena improves to 16-6 on the season and 9-3 in the MAAC while the loss drops Marist to 10-11 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Siena took the lead with 16:49 left in the first and led by nine at the half after they were up by 18 at one point. The Saints largest lead of the game was 34 in the second half when Sherron Burgess hit a lay-up with 2:50 remaining in the game.
Marist did not see a player reach double figures as junior forward Maureen Magarity led the Red Foxes with nine points. Kerry Sullivan led her teammates in rebounds with six.
Marist shot 23.6 percent from the field while Siena shot 37.9 percent. The Saints grabbed 56 rebounds while limiting the Red Foxes to 31 and scored 22 points off turnovers with the Red Foxes scoring only five.
The Saints will next be in action at home on Wednesday, February 12 when they host the Rider University Broncs. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
