NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Liene Jansone scored all 23 of her points after halftime, including eight in overtime, to lead Siena past Iona 79-73 Sunday afternoon at the Mulcahy Center. Siena won its 15th game in a row and 25th straight against conference opponents.

The game was tight throughout with 12 ties and 14 lead changes and neither team led by more than nine points at any point in the game. Siena (15-3/10-0 MAAC) trailed 70-65 with 2:42 left in overtime when Jansone (Riga, Latvia/Riga Secondary #45) converted back-to-back three-point plays to give Siena the lead for good. Iona (5-13/3-6 MAAC) almost won the game in regulation when Megan Cobb hit the back iron on a desparation 35-foot shot.

Jansone added 11 rebounds to go with her 23 points. Gunta Basko (Olaine, Latvia/Riga Secondary #3) posted 19 points, seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks.

Megan Cobb led Iona with 27 points and 12 rebounds while Michelle Fahy added 17.

Both teams shot 39 percent while Iona outrebounded Siena, the best rebounding team in the MAAC, by two. The teams combined for 67 free throws, including 23 in overtime.

The Saints put their perfect conference record on the line this week in Buffalo. Siena visits Niagara on Thursday at 7 and then the Green and Gold face Canisius on Saturday at 3.
