LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena College's 18th Annual Festa Vino Food and Wine Festival held October 12 in the Marcelle Athletic Complex raised a total of over $47,000, over $5,000 more than last year. Net proceeds benefited the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund - the primary fundraising arm for the athletic department which impacts all of Siena's coaches, student athletes and their programs - as well as several other campus programs.
"Festa Vino continues to be one of the premier events in the Capital Region year after year," said Assistant Athletic Director for Development Ryan Venter. "Siena's student athletes and coaches are more than happy to volunteer at the event to help make the experience first-class for all attendees. The Saints Alive! fund directly benefits from Festa Vino as it provides critical funding to the operations of the Department of Athletics."
The event featured food samplings from some of the Capital Region's finest eateries, paired with some of the world's best wines.
Siena student athletes and coaches were heavily involved with the event, assisting in numerous capacities. The Saints aided with the set up and break down of Festa Vino, assisted vendors at their stations and served as greeters and interacted with supporters.
