Dec. 14, 2017

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Men’s Tennis head coach Jeff Osborn announced the signing of Tomas del Olmo to a National Letter of Intent. He will join the program in the fall of 2018.

“ Tomas brings some solid tourney experience with him and has a strong serve and great hands at the net,” said Osborn. “I believe he will come in and compete for a spot in the top to middle part of singles lineup and should be a very strong addition to the doubles lineup.”

Del Olmo comes to the Saints as a four-star recruit by tennis recruiting. His UTR is 11.60 and at 6-3 he brings height to a small team. The St. John, United States Virgin Islands native has a national ranking of 189. He has been ranked by the USTA 450 and ITF 996. Del Olmo is ranked the best player in the Virgin Islands in his age group. He did not play high school at Gifft Hill School as they did not offer it, but he was President of Student Council and found his way to High Honor Roll throughout high school. Del Olmo is part of the USTA National Leadership team along with being part of the US Virgin Island Junior Davis Cup team.

The Siena men’s tennis program is 3-1 after the fall and gets back on the court on Sunday, January 28 at Boston University.
