Saints Swept by Marist 7-0 in Men's Tennis

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's tennis team was defeated today at home 7-0 by the Marist Red Foxes in MAAC action.

Playing well in defeat was junior Seth Heacock (Holland Patent, N.Y./Mohawk Valley C.C.) who dropped a close 7-6 first set, before falling 6-2 in the final set to Marist's Jason Geller in fourth doubles. Freshman Dan Thompson (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) and sophomore Brian Tierney (New Rochelle, N.Y./Iona) turned in a solid effort in first doubles, falling 8-4 to the Red Foxes' Ralph Van DePlasse and Roberio Mayer.

The loss drops the Saints to 7-12 overall on the season, while Marist improves 12-2 which includes a perfect 4-0 record in MAAC play. Siena will next be in action on April 7 at the University of Vermont at 3:00 p.m.
