Siena Men’s Tennis dropped their first match of the season with a 4-1 loss to Wagner. The match was not completed and ended at the clinched point due to court space.

“The men had a strong fall season going 3-1, but just struggled in singles play today,” said head coach Jeff Osborn. “We will have to improve on our singles play when they come back from break.”

In doubles, Siena came out strong and took the point after winning on courts two and three. Sagar Bains and Alessandro Saglia won 6-4, while Cameron L. Kirkwood and Muhammad Raza Sawani won 6-1 on court three. Siena led 1-0 heading into singles play.

The Saints fell in straight sets on courts one through four in singles play. The Saints had also lost the first sets on courts five and six. Wagner clinched with their fourth singles victory on court four.

The Saints are off until they return to the court on January 28, 2018 when they take on Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.
