Siena won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests to register a 7-0 MAAC sweep of Rider Saturday on the Michigan Avenue Courts in Schenectady. Ryan Schmitz and Peter Collins set the tone by teaming for an 8-3 win at top doubles, and taking the top two singles contests in straight sets.

"This was a solid team win," head coach Jim Serbalik said. "Everybody who played contributed. It's great to start MAAC play with a win, especially so early in the season."

The Saints moved to 3-1 on the year and they were never seriously threatened Saturday. In addition to Schmitz and Collins, Alex Burbine, Darren Reisch, Eric Sumanaru and Matthew Funiciello each posted singles and doubles victories. All six singles contests were decided in straight sets. Sumanaru didn't allow his opponent to score a point in either of his two singles sets or his doubles competition.

Siena returns to action Thursday when they host rival Marist at 3 p.m.
