The Siena men's tennis team opened its spring schedule this weekend at Loyola and Saint Peter's. The Saints dropped both matches by scores of 6-1. Senior Brian Tierney and freshman Jon Michalsin were the lone Saints to record points on the weekend.

On Friday at Loyola, Tierney dominated at third singles to account for Siena's tally. The senior from New Rochelle won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Michalisin dropped a difficult three-set match to John Glowacki, 6-4, 3-6 and 6-1. Tierney and junior Josh Magarik combined to win at second doubles for the Saints as well.

Saturday it was Michalisin who cruised to an easy 6-1, 6-3 triumph at second singles, while Tierney suffered a heartbreaking three-set setback playing #3. Freshman Brian Onofry played well at top singles losing 6-4, 6-1 to the Peacocks Alex Taunean.

The Saints travel to Sacred Heart on Tuesday for a match with the Pioneers.
