Siena Men’s Tennis got by Lafayette with a narrow 4-3 victory. The Saints improve to 4-7, while the Leopards fall to 5-7.
Starting off strong in doubles the Saints won on courts one and two to take the doubles points. Diego Lebron and Alessandro Saglia took down Lafayette on court one 6-4. Cameron L. Kirkwood and Jace Koretz won 6-1 on court two to clinch the point.
In singles, it was a battle between the non-conference foes. Lafayette took the first point on court one to tie the match 1-1. Saglia then defeated the Leopards on court two for a 2-1 Siena lead. Lafayette struck back on court three and tied it up all over again. Then both Koretz and Alexandros Giannakitisidis won on their respective courts on four and five. Giannakitisidis clinched the point for the Saints 4-3 victory.
Siena will face LaSalle on Saturday, Mar. 25 at 11 a.m. at Swarthmore College.
