St. Bonaventure Downs Siena Men 6-1
March 17, 2013
Siena dropped a hard-fought 6-1 decision at St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon. Darren Reich registered Siena's only point at No. 5 singles, winning 6-4 and 7-6 (4).
Three of the other five singles matches were hotly contested, but Siena came up on the short end in all three. Oscar Yanez held off Ryan Schmitz in a second set tiebreaker at top singles, and Javier Ortiz and Trevor Haskell each needed three sets to win their matches. Haskell edged Matt Funiciello in a super tiebreaker at No. 6 singles.
Doubles play was competitive as well, but the Bonnies won all three matches.
Schmitz and Eric Samanaru suffered a tough 9-8 defeat at top doubles, and Dylan Roberts and Funiciello lost 8-6 at No. 2 doubles.
