The Siena men's tennis defeated Division III Knox College 8-1 in the final match of its Spring Break tour of Central Florida. The Saints lost their first three matches 7-0 to Valparaiso, Bethune-Cookman and Bucknell.
In Thursday's match with Knox, the Saints won all six singles competitions, and took two of three doubles matches after losing top doubles. The teams used Division III scoring, meaning each doubles match counted toward the final score.
Peter Collins started things off with a 6-0 and 6-1 win over Erik Hane at top singles. Dylan Roberts won 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Alex Burbine posted a 6-1 and 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Jarrett Siwiec finished off a strong week with a 6-2 and 6-4 victory at No. 4, and Matthew Funiciello and Eric Sammanaru each posted singles wins as well.
The Saints return to action with March 29 when they host Wagner at Schenectady's Central Park.
