Amico, who stands 6-1, played first singles the past two seasons at Bethlehem High School in nearby Delmar. He finished his high school career with a 55-4 record and helped the program capture the Suburban Council Championship in three of his four varsity seasons. He played three straight years for the Adirondack Team in the Empire State Games, finishing in third place individually at #1 singles in 2008. In 2009 he was honored as the Suburban Council Singles Champion, and in 2008 he was the Suburban Council and Section II doubles champion. Amico ranked #23 in the most recent USTA Eastern Section Boys 18's and third in the 2008 USTA Eastern Region Men's Open Singles Division.
