Gavin Falconer scored less than two minutes into overtime, handing the Saints a 2-1 defeat in the MAAC lid-lifter Friday night in Buffalo. Nathan Olukanmi scored his first career goal for the Saints in the loss.
The red-hot Saints (8-6, 4-1) are riding high following a 1-0 victory Friday over a previously unbeaten Niagara team which is receiving votes in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll. The surging Saints have won six of eight and remain in a first place tie in the MAAC Standings entering today with Loyola.
Canisius (8-4-2, 1-3) had their most successful non-conference record in school history at 7-1-2 and began the season with a program record seven-game unbeaten streak. But the Golden Griffins are now fighting to remain in MAAC Tournament contention after dropping their first three league contests.
