LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Men's Soccer senior striker Sindre Ek and sophomore goalkeeper Damian Liesemann have been honored as the MAAC's Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively. The duo led the Saints to a perfect 2-0 opening weekend in MAAC competition.

A native of Oslo, Norway, Ek contributed on four of the Saints' five goals over the weekend in leading Siena to sole possession of first place in the conference standings. He finished with six points in the wins over Saint Peter's and Manhattan, tallying two goals and adding two assists.

Ek scored the game-winning goal in a three-point performance Friday against the Peacocks and added three more points Sunday vs. the Jaspers. Ek, who is currently tied for the MAAC lead in both points (19) and goals (eight), has moved into a tie for seventh all-time in program history with 44 career points and gained sole possession of eighth place in goals with 18.

Liesemann, who is competing in his first collegiate season, posted a 2-0 record in goal with a 0.50 goals against average and stopped 75% of the shots he faced over the weekend. A native of Wadersloh, Germany, Liesemann posted his third shutout of the season in Friday's win over Saint Peter's.

The surging Saints, which have won four of their past five matches, return to the pitch this weekend with MAAC road contests at Rider Friday (7 p.m.) and at Loyola Sunday (1 p.m.).
