Siena (4-5) opens both the month of October and the conference slate in search of the program's first MAAC Championship. The Saints were selected fifth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll while Saint Peter's (2-7), the 2010 conference champions, were tabbed ninth.
The Saints hold an 11-10-2 all-time advantage against the Peacocks, having won four of the past five meetings. In those four wins, Siena has totaled a whopping 19 goals.
Last season Saint Peter's earned a 2-1 regular season victory over the Saints in Jersey City. But Siena would have the final say as the Saints eliminated the defending conference champions by a 5-1 margin in the first round of the MAAC Championships.
Siena concludes its MAAC home opening weekend Sunday at 1 p.m. against defending conference runner-up Manhattan and will also host Niagara (10/19), Canisius (10/21) and Marist (10/27) in conference matches at Siena Turf Field this season.
