April 24, 2006

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head men's soccer coach Charlie Curto announced the team has received a binding national letter of intent from Robert Di Filippo to attend Siena beginning in September of 2006. The West Nyack, N.Y., native was a standout forward at Clarkstown South High School.

"Robert is very athletic, has developed skills in the air, and adds good size and speed to our team," said Curto. "This signing gives us a deep roster that should make for an invigorating off-season with players jockeying for playing time. Di Filippo can help us offensively and will also add a physical force upfront."

The 6-1 forward was selected to the All-Section teams in each of his first three seasons in high school and was named to the All-County Team in his senior year. Amassed over 40 goals during his career and was a member of the Olympic Developmental Program of Eastern New York for five years. He also played in the Super Y-League with St. John's Red Storm. Di Filippo chose Siena over Syracuse University, Hofstra University, Seton Hall and MAAC opponent, Manhattan College.
