LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena men's head soccer coach Gareth Elliott announced the signing of eight student-athletes today who will join the program for the upcoming season.
"I'm delighted with this group of talented student-athletes who will be joining our squad this fall," Elliott said. "They will add depth to many different positions and provide the quality required to continue the improvement of our program. Their character and diversity will be a huge asset to Siena College and our men's soccer program."
Matthew Kadoch (Wallingford, Penn./Strath Haven), a 6-3 forward, is a target player up top who will be an aerial threat. He was the top scorer on his high school team.
Philip Chabot (Smithfield, R.I./LaSalle Academy) is an athletic goalkeeper and strikes a good ball. He was First Team All-Division and First Team All-State in high school.
Christopher Medina (Madison, N.J./Madison) is a hard working, left sided player. He was a three-year starter at Madison high school.
Paolo Luciano (N. White Plains, N.Y./Valhalla) is an explosive, offensive minded player. He holds the Valhalla high school record for career goals (46).
Joseph Miner (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) is a local product from Section II power Shenendehowa. He's a tough, technical player who won a gold medal at the 2007 Empire State Games.
Sean Sullivan (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug) is a busy and technical midfielder. He played club soccer for Region I ODP (Olympic Development Program).
Julian Daeumer (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) is a hardnosed, left sided player. He was a three-year starter at Roy C. Ketcham high school.
Emery Welshman (Mississauga, Ontario/Loyola Catholic) is a savvy attacking midfielder. He was named Male Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior at Loyola Catholic high school.
Siena posted a 9-8-1 record in Elliott's first season at the helm as he guided them to a MAAC semifinal appearance.
