LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Former Siena Men's Soccer captains Joey Tavernese '11 and Nick Viaggio '12 have been reunited on the soccer pitch. The duo recently signed pro contracts with Armadale SC, an Australian Club which competes in the Premier Division of the Football West State League.

Last summer Tavernese and Steve Covino became the first former Saints in program history to play professionally when they inked pro deals with FC New York of the United Soccer League.

Tavernese played in 11 games last summer recording a point for FC New York after originally beginning his post collegiate career with the Westchester Flames of the USL Premier Development League.

A native of Garden City, N.Y., Tavernese is tied with Viaggio for the most games played in Siena history with 75. He tied for the MAAC lead with nine assists during his senior season in 2010. Tavernese ranks second in program history with 17 assists and his 39 points are ninth most.

Viaggio is the third Saint to sign a pro contract following in the footsteps of Tavernese and Covino. A versatile two-time MAAC Second Team selection, Viaggio made 73 career starts for the Saints playing midfield, back and forward.
