FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- John Dalmata controlled a loose ball inside the box, and one-timed a shot past Fairfield University goalkeeper Steven Burns as Siena College (4-9-3 overall, 4-2-2 MAAC) posted a 1-0 victory at University Field.

The two teams played evenly through the first 30 minutes. The Stags (8-7-1 overall, 5-2 MAAC) held a 2-1 lead in shots until Dalmata entered the game. Just 22 seconds after entering the game as a sub, Dalmata found himself in the right place at the right time. The ball bounced around inside eight yards, until controlled by Dalmata. He quickly hit a shot which hugged the turf and caught the lower left-hand corner of the goal.

Fairfield dominated the second half, but could not push the ball past Saints' goalkeeper Jonathan Hicks. The Stags outshot Siena by a 13-3 margin, including two shots that hit the post. Danny Attwell had an excellent chance, one-timing a shot past the Siena defense. Hicks stretched his foot and managed to kick the ball wide of the goal mouth.

Hicks finished the game with eight saves, seven of which came in the second half. Fairfield goalkeeper Steven Burns made two saves in the game.

The Saints will face Marist College at home this Saturday, November 9 in their final game of the regular season. Game-time is set for 1:00 p.m.
