Siena Men’s Soccer dropped a league matchup 3-1 to Saint Peter’s in Jersey City, New Jersey. Saint Peter’s Mateus Santiago recorded a match-high five points.
Sophomore Cristobal Toledo recorded his first collegiate goal, while Conor McGlynn’s assists gave him his seventh point for the season. Senior goalie Aleksa Radosavljevic made seven saves for the Saints (3-7-7, 1-5-3 MAAC).
Forward Santigao had a foot in all three goals for Saint Peter’s (3-10-2, 2-6-1 MAAC) with two goals and one assist. Jordan Jowers scored the other goal for the Peacocks for his eighth goal of the season.
The league foes started off the matchup both craving a conference win with the regular season winding down. The Peacocks held the advantage in shots 8-3 in the first half, while Radosavljevic recorded three saves in the first frame to keep the slate clean. It was a 0-0 match at the half.
In a 12-minute flurry early in the second half, all four goals of the match would be scored. Santiago tallied his first goal of the season in the 51’ to put the Peacocks up 1-0. Toledo would tie the match at one with his goal just 33 seconds later.
In the 55’ Jowers tallied his eighth goal of the season with an assist from Mateus to give Saint Peter’s a 2-1 lead. Mateus notched his fifth point of the match with a goal to put the Peacocks up 3-1 in the 63rd minute. After that the scoring would remain quiet and Saint Peter’s would come out on top with a 3-1 victory.
The Saints will play in their final match of the regular season on Wednesday, November 1 at Marist in Poughkeepsie, New York. Match is set for 7 p.m.
