For the third straight time, Siena men's soccer left Niagara Field with the exact same result. The Saints and Purple Eagles played to yet another 1-1 tie in Western New York as Siena captured its first point in conference action.

Freshman Nathan Olukanmi scored his second collegiate goal in as many games for the Saints (3-5-1, 0-1-1) while Roberto Andersson recorded the Niagara (6-2-2, 1-0-1) tally.

For a second straight game, Olukanmi struck early in giving the Saints a 1-0 advantage in the 17th minute. But Siena could not protect the lead as 14 minutes later the conference's leading scorer and MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Carl Haworth found Andersson for the equalizer.

Over the next 79 minutes both squads had their chances but in the end had to settle for a point apiece.

The Purple Eagles outshot the Saints 16-11 and held a 10-5 edge in corners. Jack Binks made four saves for Siena, while Brett Petricek stopped one shot for Niagara.

The Saints return to the pitch when they conclude a grueling three-game road trip to open conference play Saturday at Marist. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. from Poughkeepsie.
