Hartford and Siena Play To 1-1 Double Overtime Draw In UMass Classic Finale

Sept. 19, 2004

Final Stats

Hartford (2-4-2) scored just before half time when Alon Lubezky notched his ninth goal of the season from 15-yards out placing his shot into the top-right corner of the net. Siena (0-4-2) struggled early offensively, but controlled much of the second half out-shooting Hartford 13-to-4 in the second half and the two overtimes. The Saints also picked up 14 corner kicks, while the Hawks had none.

Hartford's Ryan Carr posted seven saves in the second half and bonus periods. Siena had several scoring opportunities in the latter stages of the match, but Carr's steady play in the net kept the Saints from scoring again.

Battiste and teammate Liam Welsh earned all-tournament honors for their efforts.

The Saints will have a 10 day break before they return to action in a four game home string when they host Vermont, Army, Niagara and Canisus.
