LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Men's Lacrosse Head Coach John Svec has announced the captains for the 2017 season. Seniors Jordan Barlow, Jon-Michael Tokar, Ryan Ghaderi and Devin Votta are the captains for the 2017 season.
"We are in no short supply of leaders on this team," said Svec. "These four young men exemplify what it means to be a successful student athlete, teammate and Siena Lacrosse player. They are selfless in all that they give to our program and want to lead this team to successes on and off the field this year. I have no doubt that each of them will do a great job this year in their roles as co-captains."
Barlow played and started in all 13 games for the Saints last spring. He was third on the team with 13 goals. In his three years with Siena he has played and started in 44 games. He was a three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2014 and MAAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2015.
Tokar played in all 13 games for Siena last season. He has appeared in 37 games for the Saints and registered 10 goals in that time. Tokar has caused six turnovers and picked up 15 ground balls.
Ghaderi represents the defense as a captain. He has played 26 games in his two seasons with the Saints. Ghaderi has caused 17 turnovers. He was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll in 2015 and 2016.
Votta has appeared in 38 games over the course of his three-year stint with the Saints. He has been a two-time MAAC All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll selection. The Levittown, New York native has recorded two goals, both scored last spring.
