LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head men's lacrosse coach Brian Brecht announced Siena's 2007-08 team captains this afternoon in Loudonville. Seniors JP Mulhall, Tim Hannigan and junior Kenny Mazzone are prepared to lead Siena in its quest for the program's first MAAC Championship.

"There is a lot of excitement going into this spring after the success the program had last year," explained Brecht. "These three student-athletes will lead this program through the winter work outs and on the field as we prepare for the 2008 season. I feel the passion, work ethic and dedication to the program that J.P., Kenny and Tim have shown over the past few years make them a great fit for this honor and responsibility."

Mazzone returns to the Saints midfield where he has served as a consistent starter during his first two seasons in Loudonville. Last year, Mazzone finished fifth in the MAAC averaging 3.88 groundballs per game and tallied 17 points, including eight goals and nine assists on the season.

Mulhall started all 16 games for the Saints in 2007 at close defense. The second year captain helped anchor Siena's superb defensive efforts which allowed a mere 8.33 goals against average ranking second best in the league. Mulhall is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.

Hannigan, a local product from Bethlehem, brings added leadership to the Saints on and off the playing field. The senior defenseman is also a two-time MAAC All-Academic honoree.
