LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Lacrosse Head Coach John Svec has named Rob Cross as the Saints' offensive coordinator and assistant coach. Cross joins the Saints following a two-year appointment in a similar position at the University of Delaware.

"I'm excited to have Coach Cross join us," said Svec. "His experience both as a player and an offensive coordinator will benefit us greatly. His passion for the game will help show our guys how to win."

Cross previously served as an assistant coach and ran the offenses at Mercyhurst (2006), UMBC (2007-09), Harvard (2010) and Rutgers (2011) prior to his stint with Delaware. With the Blue Hens Cross oversaw the development of the program's offense and goaltenders. In 2012 he helped develop Grant Kaleikau to rank third nationally in assists per game.

Cross helped guide Rutgers to a top-20 nationally ranking early during the 2011 season and in 2010 at Harvard developed the nation's 15th best scoring and man-up offense.

UMBC made the NCAA Tournament in each of Cross' three years serving as co-offensive coordinator at his alma mater and won a pair of America East Championships. His first season in the coaching ranks also was successful as he helped lead Mercyhurst to the NCAA Division II National Semifinals in 2006.

Cross earned three letters and was a two-year starter collegiately with the Retrievers and graduated in 2005 with his B.A. in Sociology. A native of Black River, N.Y., he appeared in 34 games with UMBC totaling 15 goals.
