ALBANY, N.Y. - Capital Region bragging rights are on the line when Siena Lacrosse faces crosstown rival UAlbany at 7 p.m. at John Fallon Field. The game will be televised regionally on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
Zach Bye and Andrew Santillo have the call on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel. Check out the chart on the right for local channel listings. Fans can also watch the television stream of the game online by clicking the watch link at the top of the page.
The rivalry has heated up between the two programs in recent years as the teams have split the past four meetings and the last five matchups have all been decided by two goals or less and by a total of six goals.
Siena (8-4) has played UAlbany (7-5) more times (35) than any other opponent since the rivalry began in 1970. The Great Danes hold a 24-11 advantage in the series and a 9-2 mark since UAlbany turned Division I in 2000.
Both Siena and UAlbany are amongst teams also receiving votes to be ranked in the top-20 of this week's USILA Coaches' Poll. It marks the first time since the Week of Apr. 9, 2012 and 13th time in program history that the Saints have either received votes or been nationally ranked in the poll and reached a peak ranking of 20th in both the May 9 and June 1, 2011 polls. The Great Danes, which are also receiving votes in this week's Warrior Media Poll, were ranked as high as 10th in the USILA Preseason Coaches' Poll and 11th in the Media Poll.
Last season Conor Prunty scored twice in the final 3:10 including the game-winning goal with 50.6 seconds remaining as the Saints upset 10th ranked UAlbany 10-9 in Loudonville. It marked the program's first-ever win over a USILA Top-10 opponent and just the second-ever win over a nationally ranked program.

Tonight's matchup features three of the nation's top four scorers. UAlbany's Lyle Thompson and his brother Miles rank first and second respectively, while the Saints' Richie Hurley stands fourth. The Thompson brothers, along with their cousin Ty, anchor the nation's top scoring offense which averages 15.3 goals per game. Lyle Thompson led the nation in scoring last year and was named both the Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year.
Siena is 3-4 in non-conference action this season and a perfect 2-0 against the America East with road wins at Binghamton and Hartford. The Saints' five true road wins are tied for third nationally, trailing only Bryant and Loyola which each have won six.
