LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Following their 16-6 rout of defending MAAC Champion Canisius Saturday in Buffalo, a pair of Saints were recognized for their efforts. Colin Clive was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Matt Sharp earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for a second time this season.
Clive, who corrals MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career, scored a team-high four goals against the Golden Griffins. The Massapequa, N.Y. native scored twice in the first half and then tallied consecutive goals midway through the third quarter during a five-goal Siena run. Clive has already tallied 20 goals on the season, good for a tie for second most in the MAAC.
A native of Winchester, Mass., Sharp allowed a season-low six goals while making 11 saves. Sharp, who saved 64.7% of the shots he faced, ranks seventh nationally in saves per game (13.0).
Winners of three of their past four games, the Saints return to action Saturday when they host Detroit at 1 p.m.
