Dowd `15 Selected By Major League Lacrosse Ohio Machine

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Lacrosse great Casey Dowd `15 will continue to have an opportunity to play in the professional ranks. The Madison, Connecticut native was selected by the Ohio Machine in the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.

Dowd was originally drafted by the Rochester Rattlers in the Major League Lacrosse 2015 Undrafted College Player Pool. During the 2017 season, he played his first Major League Lacrosse game on May 13, 2017, against the Boston Cannons and went 11-of-27 (.407) on face-offs and picked up five ground balls. He then went on to play for the Boston Cannons and went 6-15 (.400) at face-off in his two games played. He was selected with the 45th pick for the Ohio Machine and the first and only face-off position chosen.

Dowd currently stands eighth all-time in NCAA Division I history in ground balls (472), 12th in ground balls per game (7.61) and ninth in faceoffs won (775). Dowd appeared in 62 career games manning the faceoff X for the Saints and helped guide the program to the 2014 MAAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance as well as a pair of regular-season titles (2012, 2014). Dowd was named the MAAC Faceoff Specialist of the Year during the Saints' title run his junior season in which he broke his own program and MAAC record with 151 ground balls which was the 15th highest single-season total in NCAA Division I history.

The Machine are set to begin their 2018 season on Sunday, April 29 when they take on the Long Island Lizards.
