The Siena College men's lacrosse team fell to fellow MAAC rival Providence College, 15-1, this evening at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. With the loss, the Saints dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in league play while the Friars improved to 3-5 on the season and 2-1 in the MAAC.
Providence tallied seven goals in the first half and eight in the second en route to their 15-goal outing. The Saints put up their only points of the evening on a Matt Walsh score that came with just nine seconds remaining in the game.
Junior John Hollister led the Friars with three goals and two assists while Dan Giuntini also posted a hat trick for Providence.
Siena keeper David Jalette managed 12 saves in 45 minutes of action while John Bamford had one stop in one quarter of play.
Providence net minder Peter Littell logged all 60 minutes for the Friars, recording 16 saves.
The Saints will next face Marist College at home on Saturday, April 10. Game-time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
